Our Story

Founded in Community, Built for the Future

The Greater Tenterfield and Border Region has a proud history of people looking after one another through bushfires, pandemics and everyday challenges. Community First Foundation was established to build on that local resilience and help create a stronger future for our communities.

As an independent, not-for-profit charity, our purpose is to bring together people who care with causes that matter. We support community-led initiatives that respond to local priorities, helping ensure that local generosity creates lasting benefits close to home.

Our inaugural funding came through the Fire to Flourish program, led by Monash University, with foundational support from the Paul Ramsay Foundation and Metal Manufactures Pty Ltd.

Looking Ahead

We are building a lasting resource for the region through a perpetual fund, with donations invested to help create an ongoing stream of income for future community benefit.

We believe the people who know our communities best should have a voice in shaping their future. By connecting residents, businesses, government and philanthropic partners, we aim to strengthen local leadership, support community wellbeing and help our region thrive.

Building a stronger future together.
